Bo Zhao

Bo Zhao is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Houston, where he joined the faculty in 2021. He received his PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2016 and completed postdoctoral training at Stanford University. His research focuses on thermal radiation and photonics, particularly their applications in advanced energy systems. His work has been recognized through several highly cited and featured publications. He is the recipient of the 2023 Raymond Viskanta Young Scientist Award on Radiative Transfer and the 2025 NSF CAREER Award.
